  6. MC,
I am going to Dar Es Salaam for a meeting beginning Aug. Then taking 4 days leave to get in some fishing. Was thinking of Kilwa area, but no regular flights at the moment so they want to charge me for 2 people - $1000 return!. Now I am looking at Mafia and see you have fished that area. There is a tented camp, Lua Cheia Beach, in the north. Seems fantastic, but still waiting to hear what the rates are etc. Have you heard of it? Or any suggestions on other reasonably priced venues I can consider? Oh yes, will the winds be a huge problem this time of the year?( In as the boats cannot go out). Any area, apart from Latham Island, that you can fish from the shore? Thanks

  7. Hi MC.

I'm coming down to CT for the first time and I'm keen to go up to Langabaan to target some sandies. Ricko at fly fishers unlimited said that you were the man to speek to.

I would just like some advice on a few trusted patterns as well as some spots that I could try and how to get to them. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks MC.

    Regards

    Dave Marshall
  8. Hello MC,

I have been making some wooden fly boxes for drift boat fishing or large storage and was wondering if I can show and sell them on Flytalk.
I did sell some to the ladies team that went to Wales this year and they seemed to like them. What do you think? They sell for R 340.00 ex workshop. They measure 32 cm by 25 cm by 5 cm high and have slotted foam inside.
    Thanks.
    With regards,
    Charles Thomas.

  9. Hi MC

I am coming back to CPT for 2 weeks and amped to have a crack at yellows for the first time. I'm planning to up to De Mond (Doring / Groot River) for 4 days in the first week of March.

I read your article of WC yellows - thank you - it was really interesting and informative!
I just wanted to ask quick questions. Are there areas of the river / types of water where the yellows love to hang out? Do times of the day make a difference? Any geographical areas of river that are good spots to try?

    Anyway thanks for the help!
    Brent
