    Default Knellpoort dam.Wepener

A few months back I did an article on this dam and the sight fishing to be had with carp on dries.Well the past weekend we decidied to go hunt some carp again. We left at 04:00 and arrived at around 05:30.We walk the dropoffs and found no activity.
At about 06:30 i came around a rocky point and lo behold, about 30 smallmouth yellows cruising the shallows.Needless to say the rest of the day was one a holly crap moment.Between the 4 of us that went we must had landed over 100 yellows and only 10 carp.My biggest carp was just over 3kg.It was a day that you rarely find around our waters and by the end of the day we were completely axausted and silenced by the incredible day we just had.
At one point we were all 4 on to fish within a minute of each other.they were taking dries and wolly buggers, againsty the edges and even further out on slow retrieves.
Its promising to see the dams yellows are back with a bang as in the recednt past the dam water quality had deteriorated, but with the heavy rains the dam looks healthy and so to the fish.

    Well done John & Co.

There are some majestic fish in those pics.

Seems like I could like to take up some Dam fishing. Hint, hint hint.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.
