Sterkfontein help for Kaapenaar

My family is having a weekend away at Qwantani this weekend for my father's 70th. I am hoping to have a go at some yellows. I won't have a boat. Is there a realistic chance of walking the banks and getting any yellows? if so, where should I be fishing?

Any help would be appreciated?

AS you look at the dam from the resort, walk up the right hand bank. After about 1 k you will find some submerged bluegums. Big barbel and some yellows cruise this area. Cary on along the bank and you will round a point. Keep on going, past some more bluegums.
You will eventually reach a small rocky bay, with a raised point on the right of it. There should still be a small bush on the point which you can hide behind ( on your knees ). You should see the yellows coming in to the bay , now on your left.
Once hooked, fight the yellow to your right, around the point into the looong bay behind the point.
Beetle patterns, CDC & Elk caddis, ELk hair caddis, droppers would be # 16 - 18 brassies and various nymphs of the same size.

Have a ball, I can't wait to go back again.

I also had some luck to the left of the bait fishing area along the rocky shelves. Only thing with being confined to the bank is that you are completely at the mercy of the wind. If its blowing the right direction you should find flat water where you can sight fish. If not you are a bit stuck. Take some hoppers too.

We are fishing it over December, guiding will set you back R2000/day, max 3 fishermen.
