    Default Douglas advice

    Good day all.

I have the pleasure of working in and around Douglas for the next 6 months and I am itching to get fishing but haven't a clue where to start.

Anyone got any advice on people to talk to, spots to try, etc? Maybe even someone to fish with on w-ends.

Any help would be greatly appreciated so i can make the most of my time there.

    Cheers,

    Dale

    Hi Dale

I fished there only once and it was a loooong time ago.

There is a very cool stretch of water right in town and then you can also access the confluence between the Vaal and Orange at a road bridge.

Just talk to the locals, use Google Earth and take a drive around town. There is so much available within ten minutes' drive....

    Cheers

    Thanks MCC

Took a drive yesterday after work, river is 50m from our house and full of activity but bank fishing will be tedious at best, lol.

Plenty of aggressive surface feeding for a couple of hours before sunset, so looks promising

Will post success or failure as the months go by.
