Well, that explains it then (lightest 10ft ONE is a 4wt).

I still hold to this. The #3 is superb, all-round.

Here is my thing with the ESN debate. 3wt I find too heavy for Cape and Nec rivers, 2wt feeling more natural in those environments for me, and the 3wt or even 4wt seems to light for yellowfish, even in the smallstreams, and therefore prefer a 5 - 6wt 10ft rod. I dig the 2wt, that said, I have only fished it twice, and its been sitting in a cupboard for 3 years, and yes, it casts dry flies very nicely.

Jade, don't you worry my boy. I'm planning to pick your rod up from your folks in the next few weeks. I'll give it a proper work out!

Yeesss, it needs it! Just let me know when you need it. It will be perfect for SB pocket water.

Ha ha dont worry, she is built tough. Pirate rod for pirates. You will be amazed at how light the swing weight is for a 10ft rod.

I see Orvis have released a Recon 10ft 3wt available November.
Sage seem to have upgraded their ESN line now to the HD Konnetic technology...and included the half wells grip.
