Superb thread this, and magnificent images and fish... thanks for keeping us filled in, great to see the boys tying into some amazing fish and incredible surroundings... Good luck for the champs!

By now we had a good idea what was working for us, the day of the competition was getting closer and with the two official practise days left it was time for the opening ceremony. The reality of the whole event was about to unfold with all the teams gathering at the local school. 25 Teams witha total of 125 fly fishers from all over the world. From here we would walk through the town to the town hall and from there to the opening dinner.
Girls in traditional dresses accompanied each team.
The Spanish team, 2nd from left is last years' world champion David Arcay Fernandez.
It was time to take off the waders and boots
A clip the organisers produced for the event, there was a also a performance by one of the local bands.
The opening dinner, here a Chilean delegation also had a talk and short movie on next year's world masters championships in Chile - looks amazing!
The food during the whole event was amazing, 4 Types of Norwegian Salmon almost every meal, prawns, hot and cold meats etc. etc.
Back to the cave to tie some flies.
