    Default Orange River - Douglas

    Hi guys,

Me and my good old buddy Bjorn spent a few day with Jacques Marais on the Orange River.

Jacques was a great guide and wonderful host, it was amazing to tap into his fishing knowledge and I've learned so much from him. The fishing was unbelievable and over the 4 days I landed more than a 100 Yellows!

If you want more info about Jacques and his fishing camp have a look at his web page- http://www.flyfishingandhunting.co.za/node/3

Some very nice fish there. How much did the fish in the 3rd pic weigh ??
From the pic it looks like a monster !
    Good report back, thank you.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

    Thank Herman,

We did not weigh any of the fish but according to Jacques's estimates it was closed to 3kg. The Yellow in pic 6 was the biggest on the trip and my guess on the weight is between 3-4Kg ?

This place has my name on my to do list. After being caught out by someone who "left their flies at home" at Christiana I will most definately be making a turn there. After a long chat with Carel and having watched Jacques' DVD over and over again I am totally sold. Just have to make my calender work.
