I saw this vid a while back - I think they are beyond stupid to fish like that. Looks great, but very stupid. No fish is worth the risk...

Definitely true, but they do look like they get into some nice fish there. But the diving and all the waves looks like it could be a "bit" of overkill.

Check the other video I loaded, that guy flyfishes in some pretty cool places.

Yeah, you can see these guys are true fisherman, instead of rushing to help his friend, he picks up the rod instead

Now replace the Auzzie accent with a South African accent, replace the lure and spinning gear with a fly rod and big brush fly, and you get an idea of what it takes to hook into a GT off the north KZN coast...

... except there are less fish here.

Hey Scythe,

I can respect that, I have only been fishing in earnest for about 8 months but I quickly realised shore based SW fly Guys and Spinning Guys in South Africa seems to have to work really hard for their fish, but I assume it makes it more rewarding. Or I hope so for the angler at least

Dont do the above myself but this is based on reading some reports and magazines.
