Hi Phillip
Thank you for the advise, it eventually figured it out after trial and errors as long as my arm. I did get a few grunter with your fly, still have it and use it.
I tie for Breezers Fishing here in Knysna and they have been haunting me for a fly that looks like the one you tie and also the Jam fly. I have a come up with a combo of the two, I think, that they can sell in the shop.

The top area (see circled) above the train bridge can mostly be fished any time as the banks are always covered by water although high is better.
The Circled area to the south can only be fished on high.

True Phillip. Glad I got somewhere with it. Looking forward to a SBS. Like you said it will take a whole lot of photos to do one.

What is happening with Groenvlei?
use to be a great bass fishery, but the last time I was there, carp everywhere.(4 or 5 years ago)
I spoke to a land owner next to the water and they said there where some plans for the carp
Any update?

I can attest to that! I fished there a year ago and got one dink. However, not too long before I went, the okes fished there and were quite successful. It was a case of finding the fish, not just blinding casting to cover type of thing.
They got decent fish, so they are still there.

On Saturday I took the fly for a spin, hunting Grunter in Sedgefield.
I had a few follows and enough hit to be confidant that the fly would do the trick.
The fly would best be fished on intermediate line and should be weighted if fished on floating line.
The next batch i would wight to make sure the fly sinks to the bottom faster and returns their after being stripped.
I feel that a fly that sits on the bottom is more successful for grunter, but that is a debate for another day.
