The Protea Team left this past Saturday to compete in the 2016 World Fly Fishing Championships in Vail Colorado. The guys arrived there on Monday after 35 hour plus of travel. They have some time on the water before the event to get used to the conditions and to test techniques, flies and strategies.

In my view the current team is one of the best ever to compete in a Worlds and if fly fishing paid the bills (for some it do), this is what they would do for a living.

    The Team

    Manager: Gerrit Redpath
    Coach: MC Coetzer
Team Members: Matt Gorlei, Daniel Factor, Christiaan Pretorius, Ronald Smith, Nic Janse van Rensburg, Matt Rich.

    Lets play a little game.
Predict where do you think will the Proteas end up at the end of the competition.

we can go even further, lets try and predict every session. We can also do that for the individuals.
This will make the Flytalkers look more carefully at every angler from every country, where is he placed, how each sector is fishing, how each beat is fishing.

We have the draws, and groups, but not the beats. The beats are only done on arrival to each sector.
this will be forwarded to us probably before each session. It might be a bit difficult for the last session if you want to stay up.

Who wants to be part of the fun?

I will start, I think SA will be 9th overall at the end of the competition (May I be wrong and they end up higher. )

    Nope ..................................
There is 7 times more water than land! Surely The Lord meant man to fish 7 times more than work!
