    Interesting point Korrie.
I haven't caught enough fish to comment so let me ask this and the old hands can reply.

If a fish has a life expectancy of 10 years and you catch it at its max size and therefore at its oldest age. Does if fight like a fish of half its age/size??

Think about this for the species you target and did you notice a marked difference??

Would be interesting to hear the different experiences.

I have caught the odd "old fish" mostly trout.
The old big ones have no fight in them.
These ones end up as dinner.

If I look at my Staffie, which I see every day and goes everywhere with me.
Compare that to the fish that is at 50% of its life, 60%, 70% 80% and 90%
I do start to feel a bit of compassion and respect for the older bigger fish.

Well it makes perfect sense that old fish don't fight as hard. It's just the natural way of things.

Aging is a universal thing for all creatures.

I wander if they also get more cranky with age 😆
