This Piranaha snapped some teeth on the long nose pliers when I wanted to take a photo.
The guides are also very careful when they are close to the mouth of a piranaha, a single snap will take a of a finger, they say. I trusted them

    Hi Kevin
You should look at a trip to S America as your next destination.
Chat to me, have some good advice for you, and your missus will love it as well.

    Hi Korrie,

Some Mawaanse Dorado's, mooi! What are the fish numbers like on a good day? Can you recommend that lodge, positive and negative comments and all the possible fly rod species?

    Hi
I can really recommend the lodge.
    Positive, GREAT ALL ROUND.
Negative, It is really hardcore fishing if you go all out. ( you do not have to do it as hard as I did)
wake up in the morning, breakfast, Leave at 06:30. Start fishing at 7 till 11. NON stop.
go back and eat lunch and leave to fish again from 15:30. Starting at 16:00 till 20:00
Total of 8 hours of almost non stop casting. But as I said, you can take it a bit slower.

Good numbers 10 plus fish a day. of which at least 3 or 4 will be 8kg plus. Sometimes even 20 plus fish with the odd 15kg fish.
We got a different species, but after awhile I said to the guides, I only want to target Dorado.
#8 rod with a line that loads easy, Bonefish taper, one false cast and BOOM, maybe 2 false casts.
Strip strip 6 or so, Lift and cast, repeat repeat repeat. and ON DAD

    Definitely a BUCKET LIST fish.

We are busy with the 2 outfitters, one in Patagonia and the other the Golden Dorado lodge to have a 9 day trip to fish 4 rivers in Bariloche/Patagonia. From a small river to the very big Limay and then to the Golden Dorado in the north for 3 days. So keep an eye open for the trips. With people sharing, the costs are almost 20% cheaper per person.
