has anybody had much success fishing for rainbows and browns at night in our stillwaters? If you have had success what flies and tactics would you recommend? I know in the states and europe its a popular way to target big browns.
We once had a night fun competition at Eikendal, think we started at 11pm till 1am. Interesting was that 4 or 5 rainbows came out and close to 30 browns. Flies were general, like woolly buggers and zonkers. Darker colours.
Many years back we went fishing at a large piece of water think by the name of Swartwaterdam. We played around in the sholows and from the side, got some nice rainbows, two of them real big monsters. Unfortunately that was the years before we had float tubes etc.
There was another group of anglers there as well and they went out at night on their float tubes, targeting big Browns. Told us they did it on regular basis and the Browns are real active at night, especially when the moon is full.
Always wanted tomgo back tothat piece of water, anybody knows if you can still fish there?
