Northern Natal Yellowfish

Good day all,

I'm new on Flytalk.

I have recently moved from Gauteng to Northern KZN. In the time I was in JHB I spent a lot of time fishing for trout in Dulstroom, Belfast, Machadadorp etc, along with a number of trips to the berg which has been great.

Now that I am closer to the Buffalo and Tugela I would like to try my hand at catching some Yellowfish. Do you guys have any recommendations of spots to try out. I feel like there must be some awesome stretches on relatively untouched river out here. I have asked as many locals as I can about it but no one I have come across fly fishes

Also any advice on techniques, tackle, tactics would be fantastic and would make the trial and error process a lot quicker!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
