    Default Vaal de Sioleh tips

    Hi guys

So I will be trying my luck at Vaal de Sioleh this coming easter weekend(3-5 April). If someone can give me some pointers or tips I would appreciate it a lot. This will be my first time trying fly fishing there and I am not really sure how to approach the venue.

    Thanks

Its a good spot and time of year for some dry fly action. If it were me, i would start nymphing the slightly deeper glides to the left of where you park around lunch time, keeping an eye out for surface activity as the afternoon progresses. If you see insects coming off and fish rising (normally after 15h00) switch to dry and dropper rig and cast a rises.

The surface action is often if slightly deeper water, in which case an inflatable of some sort is useful, but April there will still be fish rising in wadeable water.
