    Andrew, no not for tippet, but you could if you are familiar with the technique of mono nymphing use fireline for the leader leading up to your normal leader with tippet setup to hooks. Fireline although very thin, is still very visible due to its colour. Bit it being so fine make a great mono nymphing leader. Although its legallity in compatative fly fishing is not known implicitly.

    Hi guys, what is your preference and if you coukd elaborate on your answer. Question is when fishing dries on WC Streams for instance, do you prefer sinking leader and tippet or floating? Have tried both and not much difference in catches but did find less drag on sinking option.
