I have stopped counting how many parents said/asked " you must teach my son how to fish."
What amazes me is that the parent don't even realise how much time he will miss with his kid, when his kid gets really hooked onto fishing.
His kid will spend so much time fishing.
THe other problem is that the kid a lot of the time can't get to the fishing waters.
There are so many places that the family can go together to spend time while the fishing folk enjoy the fishing and the rest just chill out.
But it never happens. Sometimes a very sad state.This is it Korrie, parents are living past their kids, selfish really, I never had kids, miss engaging their interests outdoor. Maybe thats why I MOSTLY FF with young ''uns'', hell!!! they learn quick. Stuff teaching ''fathers'' to teach them.ja my son is also a bit too young to start fishing....... only coming in july.....

There was a writer from the 19th century(who's name escapes me at the moment. Boswell?) who recalled a day's fishing with his father as one of his happiest childhood memories.
When the father died, the son read his diaries and found the entry for that day. It said: "took my son fishing. Entire day wasted"
Please Lord I never consider time spent with my children as being time wasted
