    Fished Oord nebo with Bryan on Sunday. Water temp was 19 and vis was around 20 - 30 cm's.

    I got a few muddies in the lower glides, and Bryan a few small yellows in the faster water. Then it went quiet, so we waded up. and up.

    Bryan found a honey hole under a tree that produced 4 fish in 4 casts, only 1 muscled out of the undergrowth and into the net. A beutfully coloured fish of between 2.5 - 3 kg.:biggrin:

    Unfortunately after waiting for me ( the turtle ) to wade 50 meters across the river to take the pic, Bryan ( POEEEETTHHH :frown let the fish slip out of his hands.

    We were the only 2 f/f on a stretch of 3 km's river. :biggrin::wink:

    Fished Woelwaters on Saturday with my son ,what a blast we had together, this had been an unplanned trip we just decided to go on the spur of the moment.

    We entered the water at about 10h00 and it was not long before i was into my first muddie, few minutes later Darian had a tangle in his leader so i took his rod and handed him mine. While I was busy with his rod I heard a nervous "Daddy!" he was white knuckling his line against the rod so he lost the fish. I explained he should let go of his line and let the reel do the work. Few minutes later he was in to his next fish he played it like a champ and I netted it for him. The smile says it all, a proud moment.

    Good stuff daddy, get them while they are young. Next skill you will have to master is the dealing with how your lightie catches bigger/better/more fish than you

    Is it just me or is fishing on the Vaal real K@K this season, top and bottom? Hardly seeing any spawning worries me!!
    Do you think we are going backwards again?.....and it seems the from the Barrage it has become a freekin toilet again (always was but it seems worse)

    I have hardly seen any yellow spawning activity. Lots of Muddies and Barbel and even Carp but very few yellows. Even down in Christiana which is usually full of fish there was almost no yellow spawning visible.
