    I would never fish a 4/0 at Lakies!
    Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
    Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
    Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey

    'Spose we should try get this thread up and running again - since the trials are over i reckon people will share more freely.

    I was at Lakies yesterday. I stopped off at the Pie Making Ceres Mafia for some coffee and got to fishing at about 10h00. I fished a di7 till about 16h00 and picked up 2 fish. I then changed to a di3 and got another 6 in short succession before it got dark. All but 1 fish were caught on brown nymphs (the other was on an olive nymph). The fish are very strong and a couple of them gave me some serious admin - very good fun!

    2 of the fish were the 25-30cm generation and the rest were between 40 and 50cm.

    Here are some pics of the largest one I caught - they were all in excellent condition like this one:

    Great stuff Grant, well done! I'm surprised at the difference in your success rate in switching between Di7 and Di3! Was it a tactical decision to switch due to the fish coming up in the later part of the day? Do you think you would have caught more had you started off with the Di3?
