Herman let me know when you going, last trip was "cool" but no fish
As I said earlier somewhere, I would like to drift from the Lodge, down to NuwePlaas in October/November. It's about a 7k drift with amazing water, especially just above where you get out at NuwePlaas.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.

Last year I went fishing with Salvador Dali. He was using a dotted line. He caught every other fish.

Seeing as Autumn is around the corner and we maybe have 1 or 2 weekends left of shallow water SMY fishing left - it's time to think about dry fly-fishing for smallies and clear water drifts for largies. Who would be interested in a weekend at Elgro if Mark Yelland and I do the logistics and guiding/hosting ?

Dave, you are sooooo right. I have already noticed the huge drop in numbers on the water at the different venues.
The old saying is that the Vaal , (when she is angry ) in summer, is no place for woooosies which is very true. Even when she is" normal" in summer, you have to be carefull.
Come winter, all the woooosies disappear to the troooot waters.
There again it's whatever blows your hair back at that time,
