Default Open spot for Destination X: Smallmouth yellows in the WC

    Hi there Guys

We have a planned trip to a spot in the western cape for some small mouth yellows the weekend of the 1st of August(next weekend)

I have one open spot left and I am looking for someone to join us.

You can PM me to get the details on where it is and what is needed for the trip. All I can say is that is wild with no fishing presure at all, the fish are big and realitively easy to catch.

We will be leaving on Friday morning about 6am and be returning on sunday.

    Sofar we are 5 guys
    Dewald
    LeRoy
    Roland
    Morne
    Shawn

Those who are interested please let me know and those who have my number you can phone me.

Good luck with this trip Dewald, I hope you guys get some fish. The river is flowing at about a million cumecs and is ice cold. The visibility is about 3 milimeters. Also with rain predicterd in that area in the comming week, you will have your work cut out for you.
I was going to join another group from the Cape that was planning to go there next weekend, but we took a look at the conditions and decided to postpone until the river drops a bit, and warms up.
Let us know how it goes.

    Hey Andre

I have been watching the weather report for the last week constantly and so far it looks good.

I have heared fair reports from the spot that we are visiting and by looks of things it look pretty good, cold but good. The rainfall in this area has not been anything to write home about.

Hopefully we can produce something, we are going to explore with the hope of getting some decent fish, but by next week this time we will know for sure

    Hi guys

I have looked at the weather report. There is no rain forcasted for the spot we are going to. It will be cold but only partly cloudy. The river was in flood about 2 weeks ago and it has cleared up and this was confirmed by someone who was at the river this past weekend. It has not rained there in the last two weeks and the water should be clear. It might be a bit fasterflowing than normal but that should not hamper or fishing to much.

There is Two spots open as shawn had to withdraw due to work responsabilities. We will be leaving cape town on friday morning at 6am and be back the sunday.

Please PM me should you be interested.

    THE AFRICAN FLY ANGLER

If you're fly fishing as though you are 'in a contest', and the only objective is to 'catch fish' - you are missing the point .... and that is disappointing

"Fly fishing is for those who hold that the fun in the race of life is in the running, not just the winning, that existence is its own justification, that a day spent in a stream or a pond with a goal in mind is a joy even if the goal is not achieved."
