    Default Brassie

    Hook:Mustad Circle size 8
    Bead:Tungsten Hot Orange 2.5mm
    Thread:14/0 brown
    Body:Medium Wire Hot Orange
Thorax:Mixed Hare's ear dubbing + natural Deer hair
    Wingcase:Pearl Flashabou
    Shine:UV knot sense
    Wax:Pritt glue
    Glue:Nail glue

This is not a Czech Nymph. This is an all purpose suggestive emerging pattern. There is no heading for emergers so once that is created please move this there.

    Step 1
Debarb hook, insert bead and place in vice.

    Step 2
Add some glue to the top end of the shank.Only a small drop is sufficient.

    Step 3
Place the wire against the shank into the glue and smear it down to the bend.

    Step 4
Wrap the wire forward to just infront of the thorax.Once you're there, wiggle the wire from side to side untill it breaks off.Do the bottom end as well.

    Step 5
Add ur tying thread,do a few wrappings over the last 2 wired ribbings to completely secure it and tie in the flashabou wingcase.

    Step 7
Apply some Pritt to the thread and dub your thorax material onto it.

    Step 8
Wrap your material forward to the bead.

    Step 9
Use your fingers and hold the thorax material downwards.Bring the wingcase over at this time.

    Step 10
Secure wingcase with thread, whip finish and tie off.Clip any excess thorax material.

    Step 11
Apply some UV knot to the wingcase and let it dry by means of UV.The fly is now complete and ready to be fished. On a side note, always let the UV run down onto the wire and just a tad on the bead.It guarantees nothing coming loose.

Jissie! Maar n boer maak maar altyd n plan!!!

I guess your name must be Gerrit to think of something like that. Talk about thinking outside the box! I don't know how many times I have asked in shops for dubbing wax!

I love the internet - it makes a dumb man a genius.

    Hi Dar,

The Pritt gom works great to secure these hairy materials.I only use it on this particular fly.

    HI Gerrit,

Nice brassie. I have been using and tipped new fly tiers the Pritt method for some years now. You will be surprised on how many flies you will use it on from now. Keep them comming.
