Is there any conformation on when the carp thing will happen? I would like to be there if it's ok. Also what will be done with the carp. Donating it sounds like a good idea, but how and too who?

Durbanville has a childrens home...but not sure if they would want any but a good place to start? Also there is/was a homeless shelter close to Bellville Station.

Just some info on the electroshocking, with the machine and boat weve got we can comfortably work in depths of 3-5 metres and catch any species in this depth. 8 metres is a bit too deep but there is many ways to get carp concentrated into an area like pre-feeding a spot to draw them in. Some other members also mentioned the idea. Willem and myself have sound knowledge on electroshocking methods for different species.

Chis like you said the carp fry will provide for the bigger trout to feed on, the success to any fishery is ''management'' and if one can control the carp numbers to the minimum they will not negatively influence the water.

One can still shock the water even after the trout has been stocked, electrofishing hasno negative affects on any fish species and we have shocked/surveyed many trout, tilapia even small fingerlings returning them safely without harm. Old electrofishing machines that uses AC as current use to injure fish by damaging their spines but our system is state of the art and do not cause damage. Is can be used reguraly to surevey and determine the state of your fishery and is much more productive and safe than using netts.
