Frizz Fiber Baitfish
Here is the first artificial fibre baitfish SBS.
I will post a couple describing various techniques I have picked up from various tiers, discovered by myself, invented thru stupidity etc.
So if it is a technique I might have copied from some one, and I did not give you credit, please own up and claim it.
Hook: any size you think will do. Depending on the fly you want to tie. From #10 to #5/0
Thread: thick that will split very easily.
Material Frizz Fibre from The Fishient Group. (but you can use any thing you want to. Even your dashboard fur.
Wrap only the front 25% to 30% of hook shank with thread. This is very important for the movement of the fly. If you tie the full hook shank it will impede the movement of the fly.
Depending on the size of the fly cut a lump of Frizz Fibre the thickness of a half to full pencil size. Lenght about 10cm
Wrap very thight onto hook shank. Front of hook shank.
Clip bull dog clip or MPJ tool onto bunch of frizz fibres and cut about 4 to 5cm length of piece. SPlit thread and insert.
Spin bobbin. Wrap "dubbing Brush" forward. Folding back the wrapped fibres as you go forward. Repeat until you reach hook eye.
For this SBS I used different colors to show what can be done.
Use sciccors and trim to baitfish shape. Epoxy/Stick on eyes.
