    Default Artificial Fibre Prawn

This is a prawn imitation tied with Frizz Fibre and Mirror Image

    Hook: to size
Thread: Strong and easy to split
    Ribbing: Copper wire to suit
Body: Fishient Pink Frizz Fibre for prawns in berry, or color to suit local prawns.
    Overbody/carapace: Fishient Olive Mirrior Image

Clamp hook in vice and tie in a ribbing material.
Split thread and insert 3 to 4 cm Frizz Fiber with MPJ tool or with bulldog clip.
Spin bobbin to create "dubbing Brush"
Wrap to hook eye, folding back the "hair" of brush with every turn.
It is important with prawns not to wrap the brush to tight, slight spacing between the wrappings gives a better body.
Trim to tappered shape of prawns body.
Cut a bundle of Mirror Image to the thickness of quarter of pencil.
Tie in a hook eye side with about 1 cm sticking over hook eye.
Take long piece to hook bend side and tie in with ribbing material.
Fold the back around the body of prawn/shrimp.
Rib to tail and tie off.
Use sciccors to trim to shape and excess fibres off.

A lead underbody can be wrapped onto the hookshank, where necessary.
    Enjoy tying with artificial fibres

To get the front feelers the stand apart, I split them. Trim a section out in center and apply a drop of head cement. This keeps the feelers apart.

    Hi Jim
here is a link to an article I wrote about a couple of guys who specialize in sharks on fly, especially gully sharks and smooth hound sharks.
