We could operate the drag net between Herman's and Gerrit's Arks, they're reliable paddlers who never capsize!!! We could have a First Aid station bankside sponsored by Bell's with one of Shelton's riverside skweezas attending as a nurse

Is it just me or does this sound like a do-able event? Maybe we should have the first Flytalk tube race. We will make it a timed event and not a who arives first at the finishing line wins. That means you can fish and float.
We can get some tractor tubes sponsored form somewhere and every team must build their own raft at the starting place.
For R50-00 bucks I'll even paint a sponsors name on the side of my tube.

If it's a tube and not having to team-build own rafts I think it sounds like fun! I'd be in (as solid ballast) for this!

I don't want to pour cold water on the idea,
However if the flows are above 40, give it a miss.
I personally know of 2 people ( brothers of a freind of mine ) who tried tubing the Vaal in flows of 100. They only found the bodies 3 days later, and the state of the bodies was very poor. The current had stripped all their clothes off, and nearly every bone was broken.

AS someone said earlier, I would rather fish.
It's not in the catching, it's in the learning something new.
