No need to convince the SWAMBO. I tend to be a little edgy if I do not get enough oppertunity to fish, and she knows exactly when it's time!

It's usually about 60 cubes during the week and they close it to 20-30 cubes at 10 AM on Friday morning opening it back up to 60 cubes by Sunday 10 AM or so, this happens every week.

You can only really fish the Vaal below Bloemhofdam on Saturday/Sunday.

    Select Lower Vaal

Best thing to do is to phone them on the Friday to confirm if they are closing it or not, we have had nasty surprises when they don't close it. Getting a bugger down to Largie depth in 60 cubes is not a lot of fun.

hi everyone... I am new to this forum

Anyone fished the Vaal today? Is the online flow rate data accurate? I would like to fish the Vaal (EendeKuil area) this weekend, your advice would be much appreciated.

Hi David, Firstly welcome to the forums. I haven't looked at the flows lately so can't say what they are. The DWAF site report for Goosebay Canyon is the one I normally use, and has been fairly accurate.

Don't forget your report back on the Vaal River Update thread.
