Chartreuse GRHE heavily weighted because of the flow!!
Hi all, just a quick check.... am flyfishing at oord nebo this week end, current permitting, and wanted to gauge you all. If you were fishing this week end at or around that venue, what would the 5 top flies that you would use. I need to get in front of the vice tonight and will begin tying, was thinking things like;
- PTN
- Brassie
- Green Rock Caddis
- Hares ear hot spot
- ???
I'm not addicted to fishing, I can quit anytime my wife makes me!!

any particular advice wrt the water clarity, speed and depth.... what flies to think of in those situations.
I'm not addicted to fishing, I can quit anytime my wife makes me!!
The clarity won't be good after the flooding...so darker colours will produce.
My top 5:
Control fly will be a Dark Olive caddis pattern, weighted, bead head, # 8 & #10.
Point flies:
1. San Juan worm and Atomic worm (Always a good pattern after floods)
2. Black mayfly nymphs
3. BF Caddis fly
4. Brassies, with small bead heads, but tied with dark green wire
6. Flashback PTN & GRHE (olive)
(All #12 to #16).
Watch for fish activity...and also fish next to weeds, reeds, and under the trees.
Cheers
Mike
