    With regard to cuts etc, being infected. It all depends on the person, as I suppose it does with fish.
    I personally ( touches wood ) have never had a fresh shin wound, ( compliments of GVP's bouldres ) go even remotely septic, ot picked up a stomach bug from swallowing some water whilst "drifting".
    Others however have been affected badly by the same sort of things.

    There again I have always said that there is always enough blood in my alchahol stream to ensure I live . but not enough for bugs to survive very long.

    Well I suppose if you spend more time in the water than out, you'd eventually get pretty much resistant to anything.

    I'd probably get sick as a dog if I even came near that water About the only thing the Eastern Cape wilderness can throw at you is tickbite fever!

    I think more guys get sick from the dodgy breakfast pie they get at the Quick shop on the way in or it could be SWAMBO puttign something on the sandwich she had to get up and make at 4:00 in the morning!?
