Better still Pierre, come and join me for 10 days in Henties. I leave next Sunday. I have all the tackle you could ever need, so you wouldn't need a thing. I am serious

Hi Chris, man what an offer. Thanks for the invitation !!!! I am stuck in the middle of a huge project that must be done by the end of the month and there is no getting out of this one. I really appreciate your offer. Thanks Chris.

No problem....but you are welcome to join me when I get back. I want to do an all nighter again for Cow Shark. I know a great spot where we always catch them. Kevin Cox is also stoked to join me.

    Hi Gents...
Great Thread! I am also keen to get into Rock & Surf when I have the oppertunity. Keep the posts flowing.
Chris, I'm likely to be CT for the Cape Argus weekend. Any chance of hooking up with you or some guys to show a Vaalie the ropes down there?
Fly or R&S... (I promise not to try "Rape the Leeries in Sandvlei")

ps. did you go FF or R&S this morning?

    Cheers,

    Morning... (nothing good about it)

In my enthuisiasm to get all my R@C equip. out and checked after not fishing for about 4 years, I found my Purglass 400/2 one piece, is now a 2 piece with the top end missing.
The rod broke just below the 3rd eye from the bottom. Do they make these rods in a 2 piece these days and can I have it converted and buy the top section. Any advise welcome...

I had a similar problem with a brand new Purglas that I drove over by accident on the first day that I fished on it. I took the rod with the crushed section in to see if a repair could be done, and they said Purglas themselves dont do repairs. The best is to take it to someone who builds up rods from blanks. I am sure they can do something (there is a guy in Bothasig who builds custom rods. Get his details from The Fishing Specialist). In my case, I landed up buying another rod instead.

I gave the crushed rod to a mate of mine for him to re-use the eyes. I may be able to convince him to give it back to me and then you can have the tip section if you like.

Hi Chris... Thanks for the advise... I'll let you know the outcome on repairs first before you ask your mate for the rod back. You know what they say...

Shouldn't be a problem in this case, because it has been de-eyed already. Nothing much he can do with the rest of it. Let me know what they say. Chances are, they are going to advise you against it and try to sell you another rod instead though
