    My guess would be its the Rhinofish as already mentioned, look in Bill Hansford Steel's Previous Book, African FF Handbook and there is a whole chapter on these monsters.. *Drool...

    I don't think these are the Rhinofish mentioned in Bill Hansford Steel's book as they don't have the "horn" on the front of the head as the Rhinofish. It must be related though.

    Message from Dr Ernst Schwartz from SAIAB

    It is indeed a specimen that was caught by my colleague Olaf Weyl (in the picture and copied on this email) below Capanda Dam. We are doing research on the system to identify species for future fisheries development with Angolan collaborators. The fish is as yet unidentified but certainly belongs to the genus Labeobarbus (yellowfishes). You can read more about this and other fish in the Fishing and Hunting Journal (last month's issue I think).
