    Some people think that it's an omen or a sign of things to come .... well it was. After getting divorced three years later, it was then that it all came clear to me. The ring was lost in a trout stream - what more of a sign does a fisherman want?

    Good luck, I hope it gets found
    Hmm.. I lost mine a number of years ago whilst fishing on the Vaal. Slipped whilst playing a fish, slid down the river, felt the ring being dragged off.

    Also divorced now...maybe these are signs?

    BTW - landed the fish - good 6lb muddie.

    Hahaha SWAK!

    Hope you find it Ian, good luck!
    Around the steel no tortur'd worm shall twine, No blood of living insect stain my line;
    Let me, less cruel, cast feather'd hook, With pliant rod athwart the pebbled brook,
    Silent along the mazy margin stray, And with fur-wrought fly delude the prey

    I got married at Cathedral Peak in the Drakensburg and the next morning thought it would be a good idea to go for a swim in the river. Next thing I know is I'm heading downstream, backwards and upside down, hands grasping frantically at anything solid, and in an instant my sparkly new ring came off. Gone!

    Wow how amazing is this, my story is soooo similar, married for 14 years, lost my wedding band in Zaaihoek dam in Clarens while landing a 6pound brown - my first brown, my first 6 pound trout, and caught on a dry... what an awesome morning, until I realized I lost my ring! The previous night at sunset I took a 5pound rainbow, on that pic the ring is shining brightly, next morning the pic of the brown shows an empty finger, and I never took my ring off! Then same as you three years later we got divorced! :-)

    To get divorced is a choice
    to loose a ring is not
