Hi there Matt
Flight Centre or Quantas should be your best bet.

Hello all,
Im looking for resources to find the best prices on airfare to NZ. I want to put a trip together (6 guys maybe) for Feb 2011 (one year from now), and want to have a good idea for pricing etc. Any good reccommendations for places to look for good deals on airfare?
I have a good idea about what to do once in the country, just not sure the best way to make it fomr SA to NZ and sorting out those sorts of details. Just fishing for ideas, thanks all.

Have a look at the Expedia website.
Probaly the cheapest rates going.
You might get some "group rate" if you chat to some agencies.

Nymphing, adds depth to your fly fishing.
Nymphing, is fly fishing in another dimension
Mate, it's a relatively painless hop from SA to Perth with either Qantas or SAA. The prices are quite good, and if you book this far ahead, the prices will be fantastic.
From Perth, there are Air New Zealand flights that pick up stragglers, or you might have to fly to Sydney before connecting onwards.
There are a lot of codeshare airlines doing this route - BA, Emirates etc.
Alternately, fly to Malaysia or somehwere in Asia and connect from there-
Nice to have a couple of days stopover for some great food.
I personally would only go Qantas JHB to SYD. It is such a long way so I want to go as direct as possible. There are cheaper airfares going via Singapore, Hong Kong, and even Dubai. But I would rather pay a bit more and get there with my sanity intact.
But hey, each to their own.
Here's another option.
virgin is now flying direct to melbourne and the its a short hop to NZ from there.
i won't tell you, how much we have paid for 3 tickets as it will be a criminal offence.
go on to the Virgin website and get pricing,
enjoy.
Thanks guys
Gary, where in NZ you moving man? Will have to make a date for some fishing...
Not a hell of a lot up in Dargaville mate - unless you take up pig hunting and duck shooting in season.
Kai Iwi Lakes is about it in the way of fresh water fishing there.
Good place to buy charcoal in bulk though - won't be running out of braai's that's for sure! Good saltwater fishing further north around Keri Keri and surrounds.
