Western Cape Olifants River

I will be working in the Western Cape for a while, I will be near the Olifants river.

What techniques and methods could I use in this river?

When i was a kid we used to fish the Olifants river a lot. My grandfather had a farm that was on the banks of the river between Vredendal and Klawer. We used fish it with earthworms and spinners. Caught a lot of bass and bluegill. Caught my biggest bluegill there. About the size of a dinner plate. Also got a few kurper.

Further up in the river you will be able to find yellowfish.

In what area will you be ? Close to which town ?
I fished at Citrusdal once before in mid winter. Saw a huge bass just watching my frog.
