There is a "safari-camp" opening in that area, in the mountain section, with about 7km of river. In the not too distant future.

I am wondering how many Capetonians will be interested in visiting the camp, fish for SM yellows etc, have super time in the remoteness of the area etc.

Korrie, on what river are the safari camp opening? Some great water in that side of the world and it is time that some of the water are made more readily available. Up to now you really had to know someone to fish...

I cannot divulge too much right now.
It is in that area.
You will need a 4 x 4 or 2x4 with diff lock.

there are/will be only 3 tents.
SO no mass of people.
Peace, quite, get away from it all.
and 7km of private water all to yourself.
Fish of up to 3kg have been caught.
Lots of dry fly in the large pools and decent nymphing water.

It will be open to all, who are willing to drive and pay the fees.
Enough basis facilities to keep mom happy. (toilet and showers)

Hi,
i found that black worked the best, the one we used was a plain black tadpole
and a black with gold bead head woolybugger. My mate who got the one of 2,4kg
got his on a black and purple. My experience from the past times i have been there are that if the water is clear like it is now, then black and a combination of black and purple or orange and yellow also seem to work well. If the fish are rizing, try dry fly's in the
early morning and evening. You have to see them rizing to get the to take the fly.

here is the viva tadpole from the web...

i think any small wooly buggers with and without hackle will work...tie some with tungsten beads and some without weight...take a range of sizes and i'm sure you'll do ok.

i have had success with yellows on small wooly buggers...tungsten beadhead, size 14 gamakatsu, 2strands peacock herl body,marabou black tail and fine wire rib. works well in natal, maybe will work there too?
