    Default Something to try

Here is a great fly to try - I have used it all over the place, and it catches fish

The great thing is it is easy to cast, has plenty of life and if you look carefully, you will notice it is a marriage of two of the most famous flies we have.

    Originator: Bob Clouser
    Hook: Saltwater, long shank
    Size: 2 to 4/0
Thread: 6/0, 3/0 or flat waxed nylon
    Color: To match wing color
    Tail: Saddle or neck hackles
    Collar: Buck Tail
Wing: Buck Tail and either/or flash a bou or crystal flash
    Eyes: Bar bell

This fly is a combination of the Clouser Minnow and Leftys Deceiver. It permits the fly to have an appearance of bulk and length, but is suprisingly easy to cast.

    Tying Instructions

Attach thread and tie on eyes.

Move thread to rear of hook shank and tie on tail.

Move thread to directly behind eyes on tie on bottom part of collar.

Turn fly over and tie in top part of collar. This part of the collar should be directly over the bottom part of the collar (behind the eyes).

Tie on the wing and flash for the fly. This should be tied on in front of the eyes.

Finish head and paint on eyes. Give the head and eyes several coats of Loon Hard Head.

    Thanx gogga
I like the fact you can create a wider profile, not just slender like the clouser, almost like a slammer style of fly but with dumbell eyes, I'm definately gonna tie up some of these for my july trip.
    cheers

Nice one, the black will work very well, especially early morning and late afternoon into dark.

That fly should push a lot of water, I'll tie and try.
    Any success from other readers?
