    Disturbing news article for you Cape Town guys...

    "Hundreds of dead abalone have washed up on Melkbos beach near Cape Town in recent weeks, prompting fears that the ocean in the area between Bloubergstrand and Melkbosstrand is toxic."

    Is this dated Mike? They mention "commercial abalone fishing" and abalone licenses- which was BANNED years ago...

    The billfish was injured / attacked by a pod of dolphins that had been hanging around the area for a few months. Was still alive when it was washed up, but to badly injured.

    Not sure what caused the abalone deaths shells are still washing up on the beaches.

    Mike.....this was quite a while ago.....thet experts say the marlin was an isolated incicdent(fluke)and the perlemoen suffered from an almost red tide or similar exposure......wonder though how come the crayfish didn't suffer aswell
    stephen is wishing he was fishing location x right now.......
