    Default Yellows at Ithala

    Hey guys

I am heading down to Ithala game reserve. Know the pongola flows there. Has anyone got some experience with cathing those yellows? Largescale and smallscale. Doubt that there would be tigers that high up.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

    Hi there
There are tigers that far up albeit small but a tiger is a tiger nevertheless, they usually move downstream to warmer climes in winter but should be returning by now together with the flatdogs so keep your eyes open, before leaving your car take some time to look for the big feet they love crossing here to raid the locals cornfields on the other side.
I have fished it on the Klipwall side in the past and mostly the fishing depends on the water clarity prior to summer rains arrival (late Sept to October)
Dead drift nympphs deep beneath a strike indicator at tails of pools, every now and there give the fly some movement with a sharp twitch or two the strike usually comes as the nymphs sink after the twitch, cast tight up against the reeds with a long leader and follow the drift like a hawk, strike at any unuasual movement

Ptn, GBHH, Mustard Caddis and Sweet and Salty Shrimp
    Good luck
