Do exactly what you do on the Vaal or Orange. Experiment with flies and check what insect life is around and under rocks and fish accordingly., find some water that you can wade, and fish the moving sections. The only difference that will influence your fishing style, is the structure of the river, ie rapids, glides etc. For short line nymphing, I use a 3 fly rig with weight control on the middle fly. for longer line and swinging the flies accross and down, I go for a lighter rig with two flies. If the water is as clear as you say, then look for fish moving around, and target them.
