I caught my second largie for the season this weekend at the Bells Christiana Festival.

It is my new PB and weighed 2.5kg.

It was superb. Great venue, good organisation and a fantastic bunch of okes!

Will try to do a proper report when I get a chance.

I have never targeted Largies but managed to land one a few weeks ago on a large caddis nymph. It weighed in at 2.6kg. Dit was die lelikste blerrie caddis nimf wat ek nog ooit gedraai het! it was a huge red thing with a peacock 'back', golden bead and a truck load of lead. Its sole purpose was to get my small point mayfly to the bottom. En siedaar. Dis hoe jy n Largie vang... In hindsight I think the caddis looked more like a Vaal shrimp and to my knowledge they make up a substantial amount of a Largies diet? Anyway as iemand die einste caddis opgetel het onder die doringboom by Oord Nebo stuur hom asb vir my terug. It was my only one and I'd like to frame it since I have no pic of the Largie to frame...

PS. just for the record, I am referring to a Largemouth BASS as it would be totally illegal to catch a largemouth yellowfish... Wink wink

    3kg on the nose...

(And it was weighed in GGY's McLean so the weight can be accepted as accurate )

That's a 1kg fish that swallowed a 2kg bag of Hullets. Come on - admit it!
